To Blog or Not to Blog

It has surprised me at the amount of attention and number of readers that these Blog updates have generated.  One of the most asked questions I receive is how do you find things to write about.  For most of you who know me I am rarely at a loss for words and one of my attributes is I am an "observer".  I enjoy seeking out those sometimes little things that a whole lot of people just blow by.  So I guess the bigger question is how to keep these short and sweet.  One other perspective on this...Tommy Carper is a talented member of our crew from Virginia and adds this comment..."You need to quit given such details of what's going on every day... everybody at home is reading and when I call they already know what's going on & I have nothing to talk about!"

Yesterday I highlighted the honorees of this years Polled Hereford Show...JC & JoAnne Rogers. Today I would like to give equal time to the Hereford Show honorees Pied Piper Farms in Hamlin, TX.  The Moore family has been involved in the Hereford business for over 125 years which in itself is a tremendous achievement.  We sometimes talk about the trends in agriculture...with over 100 years of longevity the term "been there - done that " seems to apply.  Congrats to the Moore family on a great honor.

Something I have always found unique in the Fort Worth (and they tell me other Texas shows as well) are the prizes awarded.  For many years the Texas Hereford Assoc presented guns to the winners.  This year they have changed it up with awards of custom made cowboy boots.  Anderson Bean Boot Company is working with them to provide these really cool prizes.  If you like the boots but didn't win a prize...orders are being accepted as well.

Another unique fundraising item they are offering this year are some really first class handmade Christmas ornaments.  The pictures here don't do these justice...Very Cool.  They are offered at $30.00 each or $25.00 ea for 4 or more.  There is a limited supply so if you want to buy act quickly.  You can contact Kevin or Jessica Hartley at H2ranch@rodzoo.com for more details.

Finally the last tidbit of the day....something you don't see very often....extremely rare...my friend David Albin with a fork full.

Speaking of a fork full I have included a picture from Cooper's BBQ.  Had a great lunch today and a good chat with Barry Cooper.  Great food and good people.  Bring an appetite...you will find them across the street from Billy Bob's in the old Ft Worth Stock Yards.  Have a great day.
