Ready to Get After It!

I found that this morning when I entered the barn at the Southwestern Exposition I had a number of inquiries as to where was yesterday's blog? I guess as I wandered through the barns yesterday and talked with folks, watched a few other cattle shows, had lunch at Cooper's (YES :-) again), provided family counseling and coordinated everyone's schedule I ran out of time.  I am hard at it this morning though and appreciate all of your interest.

For everybodys reference I was asked to post the remaining schedule of
events here in Fort Worth...
9 am this morning was the Pen of Three Bull Show
1 pm will be the THA Replacement Female Sale
3 pm is the Cowtown Select Sale
5 pm TPHA Meal & Social in the Cactus Room
7 pm TPHA Annual Meeting

Monday the 31st the National Horned & Polled Show will start at 9 am.

This morning we were in a bit of a rush as the Pen show that was announced to start at 10 am was moved to 9.  I know that I hit every red light between Jason & Jaci's house and the Stock Show this morning.  I am just hoping that the intersection cameras don't have my mug shot on the blushing yellow ones I went through.

Our Pen of Three bulls was victorious this morning as Market Index, Kemosabe & On The Other Hand were selected as the Grand Champion Pen of Three by the panel of judges.  These bulls are owned with partners Tennessee River Music, Moss Land & Cattle, Square D Polled Herefords, Turkey Feather Ranch, Kasey Herman, Sunnyside Stock Farm and Red Oak Point Farm.  One of the unique things about the Ft Worth Pen show is the bulls that show in the pen can also be shown individually in the National Open Show.  One would hope since the bulls have already made the trip that the number of pen participants would grow.  Congrats to Langfords on exhibiting the Reserve Grand Pen.

Be sure and checkout the video and the details on our offering in the Cowtown Select Sale that takes place at 3 pm today.  In Lot 8 we are offering at public auction the first calf from Olivia.  This March 27th heifer calf is Olivia's natural calf sired by Magnum.  You will like STAR KKH BBF Cleer Image 305X.  Questions call Montie on his cell phone 918-645-4322 up until sale time.  The sale is supposed to be broadcast on the internet at cattleinmotion.com.

Remember that tomorrows National Show is being broadcast LIVE from Fort Worth via EDJE Technologies.  Star Lake is proud to be one of the feature sponsors in providing this broadcast to all of you who can't be here in person.  To sign in to watch the show follow this link to EDJE or you can click on the banner listing on homepage of the Star Lake website.  We will be trying to keep current with the Division winners via our Facebook page as the show goes on  Click Here to head over to EDJECast.

Finally here are a couple of human interest shots...the young man is Cruz Colyer and he is one happy little boy as the next generation of Colyer's hit the show barn.   The other shot is of a local Ft Worth transplant that finally made it to the Stock Show.  Glad you could make it Wade!
